While there are many things in my daily routine I often don’t get around to doing, my nighttime skincare routine is not one of them. I have always had a love of taking care of my skin, I recall being 6 years old and telling my stepmom, Adrienne, and my Dad that when I grew up I wanted to be a dermatologist, because that’s how fascinated I was with how the skin functions. And while my aspirations to be a dermatologist slowly dwindled, my love of taking care of my own skin only increased as I have become older.
While I am by no means an expert on skincare, I am pretty in tune with my body and I have come to understand how my face responds to different products. After years of trying to find just the right products for my sensitive, and sometimes very dry skin, I have finally figured out a routine that works for me!
While I try and stay frugal about most things, the products that I put on my skin, especially my face, is not one of those things. I have come to realize that in order to get chemical free, organic, from-the-earth ingredients, in my face care, it may require me to spend a little more money. With that being said, the products that I use in my nighttime routine, for me, are affordable, last a very long time, and make me feel relaxed, refreshed, and ready for bed.
I was recently invited to a blogger brunch at Whole Foods in Sonoma County, as Adrienne’s date (read more about the beautiful event HERE), and that was where I was introduced to evanhealy’s line of skincare. Oh My Gooooodnesss, I am so in love with her line! So clean, so pure, and makes you feel absolutely radiant (read more about her line HERE)! As a gift to those who attended the brunch, among other amazing products to try, was evanhealy’s Face Care Kit. After one use, I was absolutely hooked!
I came home with the Blue package, which is PERFECT for me! Many of the products are french lavender or rose scented, which is extremely relaxing and I have found that it actually really helps me get into a sleep-mode.
The kit comes with a Rose Cleansing Milk (should actually be Lavender Cleansing milk but Adrienne and I mixed up our kits on accident before I left for Oregon so we ended up with each other’s cleansing milk), Lavender Facial Tonic HydroSoul, Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum, Blue Chamomile Day Moisturizer (which I use in mornings only), and Whipped Shea Butter with Raspberry Seeds for Lips. The kit is also extremely helpful in explaining how to use each and every one of these products so you understand what order, how much, and simply how to use these products most effectively. The North Bay representative, Shayna Kreps, for evanhealy attended the brunch and gave demonstrations on how to use the HydroSoul and Facial Serum, which was really helpful and completely got Adrienne and I hooked on Evan’s products.
Though I absolutely love evanhealy’s line, I have been using some other products for some time that are also very clean, and that help with my skin’s hydration needs. I have been using a combination of evanhealy’s Blue Kit with a moisturizer and oil from two other lines to reach my skin’s optimal health, for my nighttime routine.
After I have completed my cleansing routine, using my Blue Face Care Kit, I then proceed to put on CocoKind’s Organic Matcha Face Moisturizer. This stuff is seriously amazing! My skin, especially in the winter, suffers from dry patches and I had never found a product that hydrates my skin so intensely that when I wake up my dry skin is either gone or almost non-existent. I have had this for over a year…a little goes a very long way because it has a base of coconut oil that quickly melts into, and hydrates, your skin.
In addition to my matcha moisturizer, my future sister-in-law Hayley, bought me this facial oil for Christmas after learning that we shared a love for essential oils. This combination, of Argan, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Helichrysum, Myrrh, Lavender, and Jasmine, is organic, light, and smells divine! The bottle explains the powers of this combination best, it ‘REJUVENATES, HYDRATES, and RESTORES: Restores moisture levels and repairs sun damage. Reduces the appearance of aging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles. Leaves the skin hydrated, soft and looking youthful.’
A few times a week, as a way to further balance and restore my skins natural PH, I use Cocokind’s chlorophyll mask, that is rich in antioxidants! (Read more about it Here) I have only had it a few weeks but absolutely love incorporating this weekly, I have seen this helping make my complexion brighter.
What I love about all of these different products is that they are truly some of the cleanest products on the market, both environmentally and for our skin. These products are all adaptogens at their core, meaning the plants in them will work on an individual basis to work wherever your skin needs the most TLC.
I hope some of you try these new products and love them as much as I do! Be sure to take advantage of the 25% off sale for hair care, skin care, and cosmetics at participating Whole Foods Markets. If you go to a Whole Foods in Sonoma County you can see some of Adrienne’s blogger choice products, labeled with a picture of her and description of the products she has chosen as some of her favorites. Be sure to check out Adrienne’s nighttime skin care routine as well on her blog, we have had a fun time over the years sharing our favorite products with each other and look forward to sharing them with all of you.
Much love and happiness,
